Ben-Chorin, Yigal (Iggy)
YIgal, son of Kisriya and Pesach Son of-Chorin, was born on October 14, 1958 in Jerusalem. In January 1977 Iggy joined the IDF, and was stationed in the IAF. During that year he underwent a series of pre-pilot courses. In early 1978 he moved to the Artillery Corps. On 14 Sivan, June 8, 1979, he was sent from Metula to Marjayoun in Lebanon. The jeep in which he was driving overturned near Marjayoun and Yigal was killed. He was 20 when he died. After his fall he was promoted to lieutenant. Yigal was laid to rest at the Mount Herzl cemetery in Jerusalem.
