Ben-Chamu, David


David, son of Hanna and Michael Son of-Chamu, was born on 13.4.1963 in Be’er Sheva. In May 1981, David enlisted in the IDF and was assigned to an infantry unit, but he did not take part in the company’s training, and was employed as an apprentice to the tankers in the area he served in. David went home on August 31, 1981. On the way the back door of the truck opened and he fell on the road and was severely wounded. On 6 Elul, (05/09/1981) David died of his wounds in the hospital. He was 18 years old when he died. David was laid to rest at the Ramle military cemetery. He left behind his parents, five brothers and four sisters. In his name, a Torah scroll was donated to the Tiferet Menachem synagogue, where David used to pray.
