Ben-Aroya, Avraham (“Bato”)


Son of Haim and Zambul. He was born on 9 May 1947 in Bulgaria and immigrated to Israel in 1949. Avraham attended the Azar elementary school, was an active member of Maccabi and played soccer in the youth team for 5 years. In his spare time he read thrillers, novels and adventure books, in which he discovered a whole world. In addition to these he read daily newspapers and sports newspapers. He spent his free time talking to his friends. Abraham was the child of the family’s family and respected his parents. When he married, he was an exemplary husband: generous, devoted, loyal and pleasant. Despite his financial situation, he flew with his wife to Eilat on a honeymoon, because he knew that this was her wish, and he wanted to please her. . Avraham joined the IDF in early November 1964 and completed his regular service with loyalty and dedication, On December 9, 1971, he fell during his service and was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. He left a wife and daughter, born after he fell.
