The youngest son of Georgette and David. Born on 30.11.1978 in Yavneh, the eighth child in the family, his name was given to him in addition to the family after the death of his eldest son Habib, 23 years before. The Torah scholar in Yavneh, and when he grew up he moved to the Magen Ha-Yeled school and then went to the Tifereth Moshe Yeshiva in Bnei Brak, where he was very successful in his studies, acquired virtues, wisdom and ethics. He was a handsome boy, a handsome young man whose appearance was important to him, and he was meticulous about his clothes with good taste. He was the “nail” of the group and gathered around him friends who admired him, Assaf was a talented boy with a pleasant voice and a special talent, In addition, he discovered a talent for writing, and dreamed of being a reporter for the newspaper, and at the end of March 1997 Assaf enlisted in the IDF. After basic training he was assigned to the military rabbinate, a course for Kashrut supervisors and a kosher cooks course and was assigned as a kashrut supervisor in a combat unit. A few months later he asked for a new placement, close to home, so he could help his older parents. He did his job to the satisfaction of his superiors and received a very good grade in the unit’s Kashrut Inspection, which is a very comprehensive review, which takes about five hours and relates to all kashrut issues. And the shofar was sounded on the High Holy Days in the synagogue at the base, and the unit commander writes: “At first glance I was fascinated by him. His personality captivated me. I quickly discovered his talents as an overseer, an excellent cook, a responsible and knowledgeable person in all kashrut matters. A man who can be trusted with pure eyes. During my free time I saw him speak Torah with his friends, read the book, do not idle and do not spend his time empty. That was Eliasaf. His service framework was one week at the base of one week at home, and when he was at home he helped everything to his parents, to his brothers and sisters, whom he loved with great love, to be loved by all A few days before his death, Assaf was accepted as a reporter for the local newspaper of Yavneh, Yavneon, and prepared an article about the organization, , Which operates in the field of lending medical equipment, as well as counseling, assistance and support for patients. Assaf did not get to see his first article published. He was killed two days before publication. On December 27, 1999, Assaf was killed in a road accident near Moshav Emunim, when he was traveling in his private car with his brother Yoav, who was also driving a car on their way home. He was buried in the military section of the cemetery in Yavne, and was survived by his parents, three sisters – Mimi, Lisette and Monique, and three brothers – Eli, Danny and Yoav. After his death, Assaf was promoted to the rank of sergeant, and in order to commemorate his name, the family purchased a Torah library that was put into the synagogue, which was built in memory of the two brothers. Habib, who died at the age of fourteen. In addition,Yad Yad Elyasaf was established, which deals with lending medical equipment and providing medical opinions. The family also published in his memory a modest memorial file containing pictures, chapters of his life, letters of condolence, press clippings and Assaf’s only article, published after his death. The family also sent the prayer of the road in his memory so that people would be careful on the roads and prevent accidents. On the third memorial day for his death, a Torah scroll was put in the name of Eliasaf for the synagogue that was erected in his memory.
