Belo, Yael
Daughter of Dina and Joshua. Born on 19.11.1966 in Tel Aviv, Yael moved to Arad to live in Arad because of her brother’s poor health, and in Arad she attended first and second grades, and then the family returned to Be’er Sheva. Yael completed her studies, first at Maoz Elementary School, then in the junior high school at Shazar School and at the Makif Gimel High School in the fashion track, and after her parents’ divorce, her brothers were sent to boarding schools and she and her mother moved to Netanya. Yael was a quiet, graceful and pleasant girl, who cultivated her external appearance, love to sew, read and write, and described her life, life, and thoughts. And a “police-seeking youth.” Her experience prompted her to ask to serve in the military police, and in March 1985 Yael began her military service, and after completing her basic training she enlisted in the corps that volunteered for him, In May 1985, she completed a policing course and was assigned to the Central Traffic Control Unit, one year after completing the course, Yael was awarded the rank of corporal. The reason for this was: “A very good wife soldier, doing her job well.” Her commanders asked to be sent to a riding course, and another to a sergeant course, but because of problems in her family Yael did not participate in any of them. Its commanders continued to push for its promotion and recommended that it be raised to the rank of sergeant before the usual period of time, and in its recommendations they wrote that it exemplifies the role of the rest of the unit’s soldiers, performs exceptionally well and performs its functions in the best possible manner. ” She was asked to allow her to be at her home every Saturday, so that she could meet with her mother and her brothers from the boarding schools for a Shabbat holiday. When she went on a traffic patrol, an accident occurred and Yael was critically wounded. She was rushed to Soroka hospital in Be’er Sheva and died the next day. Yael was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Netanya. She was twenty years old when she died. Survived by her parents, sister and three brothers – Mira, Nissim, Asher and me. “Yael served as a model for her comrades in the unit in the manner of her behavior, her dedication and her kindness, her death without hesitation stunned the commanders and soldiers of the unit,” the commander of her unit told her.
