Belcher, Yehuda


Son of Sarah and Nathan, was born in August 1923 in Petah Tikva, where he attended elementary and high school. After completing his studies he worked as a sawmill in a diamond factory in Netanya, where he built his family’s nest, married a wife and had a daughter. He recently traded in diamonds. Yehuda volunteered for the ranks of the Irgun before coming to serve in accordance with the enlistment order and took part in combat operations and fought in the ranks of the Etzel forces in the Battle of Rosh Ha’ayin and during the retreat he was injured and fell on May 30, 1948, He was thought missing, but his bones were finally found. On the 24th of Kislev 5713 (24.11.1952) he was put to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
