Beiner, Gershon
Son of Moshe and Hannah. He was born in Czernowitz, Romania, on September 22, 1933. After the outbreak of World War II, the family was sent to the concentration camp in Transnistria in 1941, where the father died and the family remained in the camp until the Red Army In 1947, Gershon emigrated to Eretz Israel, where he left the country and fled to Yugoslavia, but was deported to Cyprus and Gershon remained in the children’s camp for about a month, after which all the children were brought to Eretz Israel. In the two high schools in the school, but later transferred his group Degania Aleph was trained in the IDF in October 1950. At first he served in the IDF reconnaissance unit, but later moved to the Armored Corps. He participated in the Six Day War as part of the reserves and in the battle that took place at Al Mukhtar on the second day of the battles, on the 26th of Iyar 5727 (June 6, 1967), he bravely fought and directed the tank fire while exposing himself to enemy fire. left a wife and two girls, the youngest of whom was seven months dead. He was buried in the military cemetery in Bari and later transferred to the Netanya military cemetery. His memory was included in the booklet “The eternal glory of Bnei Netanya” issued by the municipality. It was also mentioned in the booklet of his unit, the Armored Corps.
