The only son of Feiga (Zipora) and Gershon-Getzel was born on October 14, 1924 in the city of Bialystok, Poland. He studied in a “cheder” and began studying at a Hebrew Gymnasium in his city. In 1935 he immigrated to Israel with his parents and sister. The family settled in Haifa and Joshua studied in a high school. During his studies, he joined the Gordonia youth movement and in 1942 went out with his fellow members of the Kibbutz Einot group. With the nucleus he moved to Neve Eitan and from there to the permanent place of his group, Hamadia. In the group he worked in various farm jobs, specialized as an electrician, and found work in all his responsibility and devotion. From his youth he was a member of the Haganah. During the struggle he could not continue his quiet farm work and in 1946 volunteered for active service in the Hagana. On the first day of the War of Independence, he was at work, first at the company headquarters in Maoz Haim, and was later attached to one of the battalions in the ” Golani. “As a medic he took part in all the battles, from the defense of Tirat Zvi, the conquest of Beit Shean, and the systems of Beit Yosef, Zar’in and Jenin, and always encouraged his comrades to battle. An Iraqi, aided by armored vehicles and artillery, captured the line held by Golani fighters north of Jenin. Pim held the fighters in the outposts, and many of them were injured, and only at nightfall did they retreat to a new line that would be placed on the Gilboa, where Shika’s role was difficult, but he filled him without hesitation. Joshua fell on the 3rd of Tammuz 5707 (10.7.1948), while he felt to help his friend who was seriously injured and injured by a series of bullets.
