Behar (Ben Moshe), Yehoshua


Son of Zehava and Moshe, was born in 1925 in Tel Aviv, as a member of an old family in the country, seventh generation, and adheres to tradition. His great-grandfather was one of the founders of Neveh Tzedek and Neve Shalom. He graduated from the elementary school in Tel Aviv and the agricultural high school in Mikve Israel as one of the best students. A quiet, humble boy devoted to his homeland. He was hired as a worker at the Tel Aviv municipal nursery. Yehoshua joined the Irgun underground and was active in its ranks, with Etzel forces participating in the conquest of Jaffa, Ramle and more, first Carmen and then as first machine gunner. When Etzel joined the IDF, he was drafted into the Givati ​​Brigade, where he passed the battles in the Negev, where he was injured and returned to the front. He participated in the battles of Beit Joubrin, Kis Faluja, and the Iraqi-Suweidan police. On the 3rd of Cheshvan 5709 (November 3, 1948), he fell in battle on the 7th Regiment south of the Iraqi-Suweidan Police as part of a campaign to reduce the pocket of Faluja and was brought to rest at the Warburg military cemetery.
