Begeliebter, Mordechai (“Moti”),

Begeliebter, Mordechai (“Moti”),

Son of David and Shoshana. He was born on March 10, 1948 in Hadera. After completing his studies at Kaplan Elementary School, he went to work in carpentry. He belonged to Hapoel and was active in sports – soccer and basketball. He was very friendly and devoted to all his friends who loved him. He was drafted into the IDF in February 1966. His army service made him feel more comfortable in his service and in all his letters his parents were reassured that he was safe and he was still in regular service when the Six-Day War broke out and more than a month after its conclusion. On July 7, 1967, Mordechai was killed during an enemy attack on the Suez Canal (at the intersection of the Mitla road and the Suez Canal). He was laid to rest in the Hadera cemetery.
