Becker, Jacob


Was born on June 22, 1962, to an agricultural family in Rishon Letzion, where Yaakov graduated from Habib Elementary School in Rishon Letzion and continued his studies at the Amal school in Rehovot. He also volunteered for the Civil Guard, and before joining the army, Yaakov assisted his father in his agricultural work and hoped to continue working with his father when he completed his army service. And served in the Armored Corps. When the Peace for Galilee War broke out, he was with the force that first attacked the enemy positions. On the first day of the war, on the first day of the war, Yaakov was in his tank on the outskirts of Tzur. He went into ambush, was hit and killed. He was 20 years old. Yaakov was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Rishon Letzion. He left behind his parents and three sisters. Defense Minister Ariel Sharon wrote to his family: “He was an excellent soldier, with a quick perception, with the ability to express himself and his friends.”
