She was very small and had special treatment during periods of scarcity. She was a nice, quiet girl who stood out in her great cheerfulness; An excellent student who loved her studies and worked hard on them. During the shelling in Beit She’an, when there was no light in the shelters, Simcha would sit and study in the light of a candle. She did not notice the people, who looked at her in amazement. She would bring her classmates home to help them with their studies. The principal of the high school in Afula, Yisrael Matzner, said: “There was a special grace on her face and she had all the Yaffa qualities of a pure daughter of Israel: beauty, modesty, simplicity, generosity, honesty, dedication and loyalty. A special light, in its quiet ways, gave it a peaceful and pleasant environment. ” Simcha was a model student, and completed her studies with high achievements in all subjects, both real and human. Between the time she completed her studies and her time in the army, Simha had a few months of vacation, stayed in Tel Aviv for one month, worked at Kibbutz Nir David, and at the end of January 1973 she was drafted into the IDF.
