Bechar, Yaakov
Yaakov, son of Masuda and Yehoshua Bechar, was born in 1944 in Iraq and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1951. Yaakov was drafted into the IDF in early February 1963. Yaakov completed his mandatory service in August 1965. In 1967 he was sent to serve as a reserve soldier in the Armored Corps and took part in an Armored Corps training course and participated in the Yom Kippur War. In 1972 Jacob married Dvora and over the years they had five children. On 25 Sivan, July 2, 1986, during his active service in reserve duty, Yaakov fell. He was buried in the military section of the cemetery on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem, leaving behind a wife, three sons, two daughters.
