Baumgarten, Israel

Son of Emanuel and Sarah. He was born on February 25, 1936, in Haifa, twelve days after the parents’ aliyah to Israel, and after graduating from the elementary school in Tel Aviv he studied at the ORT school in Jaffa and specialized in electronics and radio. He was a member of the “Peled” group in Kibbutz Magen in the western Negev and was drafted into the IDF in December 1953. He fell in the course of his duties as a member of the ” (19.9.1954). He was buried in the cemetery in Kibbutz Magen and on December 9, 1958 he was transferred to the eternal military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul.
