Bauer, Meir-Zvi
Ben Ethel and Abraham. He was born on 19.11.1907 in Budapest, the capital of Hungary. He immigrated to Israel in 1936 and settled in Jerusalem. By profession he was a radio engineer. He had a radio repair shop on Mea Shearim Street. Was a very industrious person and an expert in his field and repair tools were coming from all over the city. He had a sense of humor, a joker and a genius. Joined the Guard and joined the defense of the citizens of Jerusalem. He was rejoice in the establishment of the State of Israel, but five days later, on May 19, 1948, he was killed in the shelling of Jerusalem while he was engaged in fortifications. He was survived by a wife – Rachel to the daughter Winkler, daughter of Tamar, four years old and son of Abraham – two years old.
