Son of Mazal and Shalom. He was born on September 13, 1965, in Netanya. Enav grew up in a warm, loving and cohesive family, whose slogan was “everyone for everyone” and in such an atmosphere his character and personality were shaped. His kindness and willingness to help were expressed during his studies as he stood up and helped the weak of his friends and did not feel that his help disturbed the teacher. Fortunately, the teacher understood his good intentions and later learned to do so without interrupting the proper course of the lesson. Anav graduated with honors from the Moriah State Religious School. He continued to study for one year at the Bar-Ilan religious high school. But because of his strong desire to learn a profession, he continued to study at the ORT Yad Leibowitz vocational high school – all in Netanya. Alongside his studies, he enjoyed modeling and working in the evenings in hotels, in order to pay for driving studies and purchasing a private car. He completed the vocational school with a great deal of success and continued to study for two years as part of the reserve at the ORT Technological College. Enav was drafted into the Israel Air Force in May 1985 and was assigned to the Israel Air Force, where he completed his first year of service in the United States in 1987. In order to succeed in this mission, Enav successfully completed a technical English course. Anav was a model son and a loving brother to his three sisters. He cared for them as best he could. If one had to be driven at an unacceptable time, they always knew he could be trusted. When his sister Dganit married, and he was only seventeen, he took care of all the details of the event, and then when she gave birth he received a special leave from his unit and drove all the family to Jerusalem. Enav also offered financial help to his parents and sisters. On the 27th of Nissan 5749 (1.5.1989), Sergeant Anav Serir fell in the line of duty and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Netanya. Survived by his parents and three sisters – Deganit, Zamir and Geffen. In his letter of condolence to the bereaved family, his commander said that Enav had “four years of activity, development and progress, in which he excelled all along the way. All the soldiers, dedicated, diligent and honest … Throughout his service he excelled in his honesty and smile, which radiated an atmosphere of optimism for all around him.
