Bassel, Yehuda (Udi)


Ben Shoshana and Zechariah was born on August 29, 1985 in Moshav Yinon, where he grew up and was educated. Udi, the youngest son of the founders of the moshav, a brother to Bat Oren, Yigal, Yael, Raziel and Yosef. At the beginning of August 2004, Udi enlisted in the IDF and began a combat path in Battalion 13 in the Golani Brigade, after completing advanced training as an outstanding soldier and a model soldier. At the end of the course, Udi was the commander of a squad of recruits in the March 2005 track company. At the end of the course he passed on the recommendation of his commanders to the Spire Division, along with his classmates in August 2004. Udi was an amazing person, a true friend and a wonderful personality. The two most prominent features that characterized him were: the joy of life and the desire for perfection and professionalism. There is always a broad smile on his face, a smile that also radiates on those around him. Yehuda was planning to go to an officers’ course after the operation in which he fell, but he did not get it. On Thursday, July 6, 2006, Udi was wounded by IDF gunfire during an operation in the Gaza Strip, and he was buried at the military cemetery in the village of Warburg, leaving behind his parents, three brothers and two sisters. was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant,
