Bashar, Israel


Son of Kathon and Yosef, was born on July 17, 1930 in Jerusalem. Israel studied in Talmud Torah and at the Sha’arei Zion Yeshiva of the Gaon Rabbi son of-Zion Meir Chai Uziel until Gil Bar-Mitzvah. He worked on the Torah that excelled in her, but was forced to leave school and come to the aid of his distressed family. He was hired to work at the WIZO branch in Jerusalem, but continued his studies in the late evening and remained faithful to Torah and tradition, and he had good manners and faithfully fulfilled what he had been entrusted with. He participated in many battles: in Sheikh Jarrah, on the radar, in the assault on Armon Hanatziv Etc. During his short vacation visits to his parents’ home he calmed them and influenced them with his faith and strong hopes A victory will come. On 11/11/1948, as he walked to his position at the outpost near Beit Iksa origin he was hit and killed by a bullet fired from the direction of Nebi Samuel. He was buried in Sheik-Bader Bet. On the 17th of Sivan 5761 (21.6.1951) he was put to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
