Barzani, Smadar
Daughter of Zahava and Shlomo. She was born on June 15, 1969 in Jerusalem. She studied at the Gershon Agron Elementary School and at the Slixberg High School in Jerusalem, and as a teenager she was a member of the Scout movement, Smadar, by her lover, stood out for her love of nature and nature, Smadar was drafted into the IDF in mid-October 1987. After basic training, she underwent a medical training course and served in the Medical Corps. On the 17th of Shevat 5749 (17.1.1989) Smadar fell during her service and was laid to rest at the Mount Herzl cemetery in Jerusalem. Survived by her parents, two sisters – Gila, Osnat and Ah-Shai. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, the unit commander said: “Smadar served in the unit as a paramedic, a position she performed with devotion, faith and with great emotion, Smadar was very popular with her commanders and friends. Her family published a book in her memory.
