Baruch, Yosef (“Yossi”)

Baruch, Yosef (“Yossi”)

Son of David and Rivka. He was born on June 30, 1956, in Tel Aviv. The family moved to Daughter of-Yam, where Yossi received his basic education at the Nachshonim school. He also did his high school studies in the real-biological track at the Ramot school. Yossi was one of the quiet children, not much to vote for, but when asked, he always knew how to answer the right answer. He was known as an introverted boy who was not eager to reveal his thoughts and experiences to a stranger, but the few friends who found his Lev, soon learned what his spiritual world was rich in. He was handsome and blessed with two large green eyes that were always marked with a smile and happiness. He was satisfied with what he had done. And received with love for what the environment gave him. He never complained about difficulties, suffering or pain. He was full of energy, disciplined and obedient, full of reverence for his parents. Did not miss an opportunity to help others. Was admired by his friends for his virtues. Yossi devoted his free time almost entirely to reading and playing. He played from the joy of creation and as a refuge from daily routine. For eight years he participated in Bat Yam’s Municipal Youth Orchestra and performed in various cities, schools and a wider public. He also had the qualities of an actor and took part in several performances on stage. He would have played chess well. Yossi was educated at his parents’ home to be devoted to his people and his country, and although his glory was not his physical strength, when he reached the army in August 1974, he did not hesitate at all and volunteered for the Paratroopers. He died at the time of his service on the 16th of Tishrei 5735 (October 2, 1974) and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul, leaving behind his parents and two brothers. In his name in the forests of the Jewish National Fund.
