Barty, Israel


Son of Sa’ida and Pinchas, was born in 1925 in Yemen. He received a traditional education and in 1941, when he was 16, he immigrated to Israel. The family settled in Jerusalem, but Israel moved to Netanya and worked in a diamond polishing factory and even married a wife. With the UN General Assembly resolution on the Partition Plan, he joined the Jerusalem Brigade and was sent to the Etzion bloc with reinforcements on May 12. On May 12, the Legion forces, with the help of local masses, carried out a heavy attack on Gush Etzion, The enemy fell in this battle on Wednesday, May 13, 1948. On the 17th of Cheshvan 5710 (17.11.1949) he was transferred to the eternal military cemetery at Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
