Bardugo, Moshe

Son of Jacqueline and Jacob, he was born on January 1, 1962 in Jerusalem. Moshe attended the “Zalman Aran” elementary school. Afterward, he continued his studies at the Bezeq vocational high school, specializing in electronics. Moshe was a nice boy and a good student, who loved to help his friends at school and was loved by his teachers and classmates. He participated in all kinds of activities in the school, and especially enjoyed organizing parties and entertainment nights. Moshe played the flute and was a member of the Jerusalem Youth Orchestra. His classmates say that Moshe was a real friend and very much appreciated their friendship with him. He was always willing to help them, and to share with them moments of joy and sadness. When he was drafted into the IDF, he chose to commit himself to a career army in order to continue his studies in practical engineering, and was drafted into the IDF in mid-July 1980, and was assigned to serve in the Signal Corps. After completing his senior year, he completed a course for a communications technician and was assigned to a battalion in the Golan Heights. Thanks to his professionalism and devotion to the position, Moshe was promoted to a quick position and was soon appointed commander of the team. A member of the team noted that Moshe always encouraged his friends, and everyone saw him as a loyal friend: “Moshe loved the battalion very much, one of the reasons was the social experience, the admiration for him was so great that all those who wanted to be close were always there.” During the Peace for Galilee War, Moshe was called with his unit to Lebanon. One day in late June 1982, the soldiers of the unit prepared for a night car park in one of the villages east of Dimur, when suddenly a grenade was thrown at them. Moshe fell on the 7th of Tammuz 5742 (28.6.1982) in a battle in Lebanon and was brought to rest at the Mount Herzl Cemetery in Jerusalem. He left behind his parents and sister. In a condolence letter to the bereaved famil, the positive attitude of Moshe, who showed diligence, loyalty, professional knowledge and dedication, was highlighted. He was always ready to go out with the men of the unit and sit on the front line and contribute his knowledge. He was loved by his comrades in the company, and wherever he went, he became popular and loved, because of his joie de vivre and personality. His family published a booklet in his memory, including memories of friends, teachers and family members.
