Barak, Nahum


Nachum (Nahumi), son of Sarah and Baruch, was born on September 30, 1954, in Kiryat Tivon, At the beginning of November 1972 he volunteered for the Paratroopers Brigade. Although he was not a combatant by nature, he chose this difficult and dangerous service, because “someone has to go there.” In the Yom Kippur War, Nahum took part in the braking battles against the Egyptians on the Sinai front. On October 17, 1973, in one of the bitter battles that took place at the Chinese Farm, Nachum was hit and killed. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Kiryat Tivon. Survived by father, mother and sister. After his fall, he was promoted to corporal.
