Bar-Tikva, Yitzhak
Son of Lili and Yom Tov. He was born on 15 July 1927 in Prague, Czechoslovakia. Later on, the family moved to Vienna where he studied at the Agudat Israel school and was a model student. In 1934 he immigrated with his parents to Eretz Israel. In Israel, his parents spent some time in Kfar Ivri, near Jerusalem, and then moved to the settlement of Magdiel. Yitzhak continued his studies at the Magdiel School, and here he excelled in them, and at the same time helped to support the family. Among other things, he was involved in irrigation work in the orchard and also sold flowers from the mother’s garden. During his studies he was the founder of the Bnei Akiva branch in Magdiel and its operators. After graduating, he joined the youth group in Sde Ya’akov and continued his training at Tirat Zvi, where he was liked by his friends because of his always cheerfulness and willingness to help others. In 1946 he returned to his parents’ home to help build their new home in Kfar Sava, which saved a lot of construction expenses. Here, too, he learned of his gaiety, despite the difficult economic situation. At the same time, he continued to be active in the Bnei Akiva branch and later joined the Hagana, where he completed a course for department commanders. He also set out to guard the borders of the colony. In this capacity, he displayed great devotion, and on Tisha B’Av he replaced one of his neighbors with one of his neighbors. On the 15th of Av 5747 (15.8.1947) he fell on guard duty while guarding. Was buried the next day at the cemetery in Kfar Sava. The chapters of his life were published in the “Boys’ Book” published by the Kfar Saba Local Council.
