Bar-On, Israel


Son of Nechama and Shachna. Born in 1906 in Kaunas (Kovno), Lithuania, and at the age of fifteen he made the decision to immigrate to Eretz Israel and in 1923 immigrated to Israel alone and was accepted to study at the Reali School in Haifa. As a result of eating apples, he contracted typhoid fever and died three weeks later on July 19, 1929. He was buried in Petach Tikva. He left a wife. His son, who was born after his death and bore his name, died at the age of eight months.
