Bar-Lev, Shimon

Son of Zippora and Benjamin, was born in Tbilisi, USSR on 16.5.1963 and immigrated to Israel in 1971. In the USSR he studied for two years and in Israel he continued his studies at the Shazar elementary school in Netanya. He then moved to the “Neurim” high school in Emek Hefer, and studied in the automotive electrical engineering track. After graduating he began to work in his profession. His main hobby was sports. In 1981 he joined the Israel Defense Forces and during the last half year of his life Shimon served in the Israel Air Force, and during his service he performed impeccable duties, observing the rules of military discipline, and according to his commander he acted as a model for his comrades. Shimon fell during his service on the 13th of Tevet 5744 (December 13, 1983). He was 20 years old at the time of his death and was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Netanya. He was followed by a father, mother, brother and sister
