Bamanolker, Asher


Son of David and Esther. Four years earlier, his family immigrated to Israel from Bombay, India, where he began his studies at the Haro’eh religious school in Rishon Letzion and continued at a youth center for education and vocational training In the streets. He completed his professional studies at the Hadassah-Neurim Youth Vocational Education Center in Netanya, after his recruitment was postponed for a year. He specialized in the profession of frames and structures. He was a member of a large family. Respected his parents and his family, was a disciplined and educated child, and extended a helping hand to all that was required. He was gentle in spirit and body. At the same time, he was a sports fan and played soccer. Who was drafted in February 1977 for regular service and assigned to the Ordnance Corps. In accordance with his skills, he was sent to the Armaments School and was promised promotion in his military course. Who loved the army and settled in his unit. But fate soon became cruel to him. He had a hidden illness in his Lev, and only three months had passed since he had enlisted, and he had fallen during his stay in the camp and had been defeated by the disease. Was brought to eternal rest in the old cemetery in Rishon Letzion. He was survived by a mother, five sisters and three brothers. The commander of the armaments school wrote to the bereaved parents: “Asher, who was at the beginning of his career in the IDF, was discovered in our school, where he learned a military profession as a good, disciplined and promising soldier who was diligent in his studies and accepted by his friends and commanders.” The family commemorated him by writing a Torah scroll in his name.
