Balleti, Shlomo (Solomon)
Shlomo, ben Perla and Leon, was born on the 16th of Tevet 5707 Augest 1st, 1947 in Malaga, Spain. In 1956 he immigrated to Israel with his family. Shlomo was drafted into the IDF at the beginning of November 1964 and assigned to the Engineering Corps, and after a series of training and courses he was trained as a leveler. He was always willing to help others, both with advice and with action and enjoyed giving and people. ” Shortly before his discharge from the regular army, Shlomo found his unit in a combat incident (the Dvir incident), in which his commander was wounded, and his friends say that he escaped under the fire to the aid of his commander and then dragged him on his back to cover. On his certificate of release, it bore the following words: courageous, entrepreneurial and resourceful. Shlomo did not manage to sign the forms of release from regular service and the Six Day War broke out, and he returned to his unit. During the War of Attrition he served long reserve periods and was one of the founders of the Bar-Lev line. When one of his friends fell, Shlomo took care of his family. During the Yom Kippur War, Shlomo served in an armored engineering battalion. and survived two wars. In all the difficult battles, he fought in the most dangerous sectors of the Chinese Farm, and crossed the Canal, and remained healthy and safe. On the 3rd of Cheshvan 5734, October 29, 1973, his engineering unit went on a tour of the area of the Great Bitter Lake, during which a mine-mine exploded and Shlomo was killed in the explosion. He was brought to eternal rest in the Beer Sheva cemetery.
