Son of Aharon and Yardena. He was born on October 9, 1957 in Holon. He studied at the Revivim Elementary School, and continued his studies at the Miterani High School in Holon. Ofer was a diligent student. He was a comfortable and beloved child to his friends and teachers. In high school, he became prominent in his social activities and was elected chairman of the student council. At the graduation ceremony he was awarded a certificate of excellence for his social activities within the framework of the school. The principal of the school says: “Ofer had qualities that he liked about society, and within a very short time he was already in a position to lead the students’ society to a series of social activities in the school.” The teacher added: “The outstanding line that characterized Ofer was his awareness of the society surrounding him and his loyalty to his friends and school, and his will to overcome all the difficulties and temptations, to give up a bit of recreation and finish school as a successful student with a high school diploma Active company “. From an early age, Ofer was a member of the Hashomer Hatzair youth movement in Holon. He was a sports fan and excelled at sea sports; He worked in water skiing and sailing. Ofer was drafted into the IDF in February 1976 and volunteered for the Navy, and after completing basic training, he was sent to serve in the Ramah missile ship. He was a responsible and disciplined soldier and integrated well with the soldiers in the unit. On October 12, 1976, Ofer fell while serving in Sinai. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. Survived by his parents, sister and two brothers. After his death, Ofer was promoted to the rank of corporal, and his parents set up a scholarship fund for social activities at the Miterani High School in Holon, where he studied.
