Bachbot, Meir

Son of Pircha and Mordechai, was born on April 13, 1962, in Haifa. His unit was transferred to the Upper Galilee and his job was to secure the transportation arteries and escort convoys. On the 10th of Adar 2, 5708 (March 21, 1948), on the way to Safed, his armored vehicle landed on a mine, and Meir was killed in the course of his duty. He was buried in Mahanayim. On September 21, 1949, he was buried in the military cemetery in Haifa.
