Azzer, Gabriel (Gabi)

Son of Miriam and Armond, was born on 9 November 1961. He was a member of a large family and one of his brothers was killed in a Katyusha attack in 1969. On April 30, 1981, he led a truck with equipment in a convoy that traveled near Amiad, in the Upper Galilee, towards the Golan Heights. On the way, Gabi swung to the side of the road and bumped into the side of the mountain. Gabi and his friend were killed in the accident, and a soldier traveling with him was wounded. He was 19 when he died. Gabi was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shmona. He left behind his parents, seven brothers and eight sisters.
