Azulay (Dahan), Shlomo (“Yaish”)

Son of-Avraham (Raphael) and Massouda. Born in 1946 in Morocco and immigrated to Israel in 1957 with his family, who settled in Kiryat Malachi. He studied at the Efraim Efraim and Zvi Guber Primary School in Kiryat Malachi, and after graduating he began to study the profession of voting, in which he worked until his enlistment in the IDF. Shlomo joined the IDF in mid-May 1964 and joined the Nahal Brigade. He completed his military service in the settlement of Mi Ami and Kibbutz Hasolelim. After completing compulsory service, he returned to the town of Kiryat Malachi and established his home there. He married a wife and had two daughters. Shlomo, who was very attached to his home, had gold hands and all that was needed for his home and his family had installed himself. As a hobby, he began to specialize in electronics, with the help of many books he acquired, and reached a high level of skill. He knew how to repair various appliances, such as: radio, television, and even tape recorders. He loved music and learned, on his own, to play accordion and guitar prose. He was called for periods of reserve service and would do them without complaint and without any attempt to evade. He was always willing to help anyone, both willingly and with dedication, in the reserve service and also as a citizen. On the 28th of Kislev, 5723 (28.11.1972), he fell during his service and left behind a wife and two daughters. He was laid to rest in the military section of the cemetery in Kiryat Malachi. In a letter of condolences to the family, his commander wrote: “A cruel fate prevented him from completing his reserve duty and returning safely to the bosom of his family, whom he so loved and expected to return to. forever”. A Torah scroll in his memory was brought by his family to the Elijah Hanavi Synagogue in Kiryat Malachi
