Azoulay, Reuven (Roland)
Son of Binyamin and Yvonne. He was born on 21 November 1940 in the city of Ariana, Tunisia, after Reuven studied for two years at the Alliance High School, immigrated to Israel in 1956 as part of Youth Aliyah and joined the Mevo’ot Betar settlement near Jerusalem. He joined the “Betar” nucleus and settled in the Amatzia farm in the Lachish region. There was a member of the regional council. In 1963 he moved to Holon and began working for Air France at Lod Airport. His hobby was sports and he was busy at leisure. But on behalf of the company was sent abroad (to Paris) for study. When the Six-Day War broke out he was called up for reserve duty and in his unit he was among the first to volunteer for any position. On the second day of the fighting, he was 26 Iyar 5727 (6.6.1967), fell in a battle that took place in Deir al-Balah in the Gaza Strip. And three months later his wife gave birth to a son who was named David with the addition of Roland (after him). He was buried in the military cemetery in Bari and later moved to eternal rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
