Azoulay, Joseph


Son of Mazal and Avraham, was born on January 1, 1964 in Kiryat Ata. He attended the “Lohamei Hagetaot” elementary school in his hometown, and later moved to Rogozin High School and studied for one year. He then decided to move to the Ramat Hadassah boarding school in Kiryat Tivon. There, too, Yossi did not find his place and moved to the “International” school, where he studied auto mechanics for one year. He was a vigorous and active child, a lot of mischievous and mischievous acts, but he did have a sense of responsibility and mature attitude. He loved sports very much and spent a lot of time doing it. In his youth he participated in karate, a sport he was particularly fond of. Then he became very interested in football and spent all his free time devoted to this game. He even joined the Maccabi Haifa youth team. He was also a member of the neighborhood youth clubs and sports clubs. Shortly before his enlistment in the IDF, he was trained to drive a heavy vehicle and became a driver, and Yossi was drafted into the IDF in mid-February 1982 and was stationed in the Armored Corps. After completing basic training, he was sent to serve as a driver in the prestigious 7C Brigade. After two months of service, the Peace for Galilee War broke out and Yossi was sent with his unit to Lebanon, where he spent about one year and was slightly injured as a result of a traffic accident. He was a good soldier, loyal and devoted to his job. He was always responsible for his duty and for the satisfaction of his commanders, for which he was respected and given the rank of corporal. Among his friends he was admired and accepted for his kindness and willingness to always help others. When a friend was needed, he was willing to spare himself to help his friend with advice, deed, money, and time. He was modest and humble in his manner, always contented himself with a little and raised the slogan: “Live and let live”. On the 14th of Nisan 5744 (14.4.1984) Yossi fell during his service and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery on the Carmel coast. He left behind his parents, brother and two sisters. His family commemorated his name in the synagogue in his hometown
