Azoulay, Gabriel

Son of Amram and Sultana. He was born on July 28, 1953, in Port-Liotta, Morocco, where he spent his childhood. In 1965 he immigrated to Israel with his family, who settled in Jerusalem. Until his enlistment he worked in various jobs. He was an athlete, a lot of swim, and participated in the success of the Sea of ​​Galilee and won several medals. He also engaged in underwater sports. Gabriel joined the IDF in mid-November 1970 and volunteered to serve in the Nahal Brigade. He underwent an agricultural training course at Kibbutz Malkiya in the Upper Galilee and spent two years with the nucleus in various kibbutzim. He was a tractor operator at Kibbutz Yehiam and a sports and swimming instructor in Kibbutz Nir Yitzhak. Gabriel was acceptable to his friends and excelled in leadership ability, but soon decided that he would serve his country well in a combat unit and asked to volunteer for the Armored Corps. In the Corps he took a driver’s course, a course for the drivers of a half-track and a heavy truck driver’s course, and at last was transferred as a driver to the Southern Command Command, where he fulfilled his duties quietly and efficiently to the satisfaction of his superiors. Fulfilling his duties and being put to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
