Avraham, son of Shoshana and Amram, was born in Nahariya on August 13, 1953. He studied at the Achva elementary school and completed his studies at the Be’er Sheva Comprehensive School, Because Avi was a wise and talented boy who had underestimated himself, he was full of life and cordiality and loved to help his friends who had a hard time in school, and was especially interested in literature, poetry, and politics. He was most interested in everything related to aviation and until his conscription to the IDF he used to assemble airplane parts, since from childhood he dreamed of being a pilot “when he grew up” . Avraham was drafted into the IDF in mid-October 1971, was sent to an aviation course and spent ten months there, and after completing a course in the course he was transferred to the Artillery Corps, where he served as a field officer. In the course of the course, Avi wanted to return to his unit, and as a commander, his subordinates demanded that he obey his instructions, but he was very fond of his soldiers and comrades who appreciated his integrity and devotion, He often visited his home during his army service and kept in close contact with his family When he was commander of an artillery crew, he was hit in an attack by an Egyptian aircraft in the northern sector of the Suez Canal, on the 7th of Tishrei 5740 (7.10.1973). He was brought to the eternal rest of the cemetery at Kibbutz Mishmar Hanegev, where he left behind his parents and sister, and was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant in a letter of condolence to the bereaved family: “Your son Avraham served with full faith until his last moments. He was an active soldier, loved by his friends and ready to help everyone. “His parents and friends published a booklet in his memory, including his life story and friends’ stories about his character.
