Aziza, Renee (Mahluf)


Son of Zohara and Moshe, was born on the 2nd of Tishrei, September 2, 2828 in the city of Oujda, Morocco. He left his hometown on 18.5.1948, three days after the declaration of the State of Israel and shortly before the riots against the Jews in Morocco, and on a long journey, after arriving in Algiers and Marseille, arrived in Israel on July 6, 1948. From Israel, he sent letters to his parents in Morocco, in which he wrote about his happiness to live a life of freedom in his homeland. After he was drafted into the Negev Brigade, he wrote about the brotherhood of the fighters and the belief in them. On September 24, 1948, Rene was wounded in a battle in the Negev and on the following day, on the 25th of September 1948, died of his wounds. Buried in “Ruchama”. He managed to live in Israel for only two and a half months. On the 16th of Iyar 5706 (16.5.1950), he was transferred to the eternal military cemetery at Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
