Awida, Jamal
Son of Mona and Salman. Jamal was born in the village of Yarka in 1939. He was the brother of Muhammad, Sa’id, Salim and Antisar. He grew up and was educated in Yarka. Jamal joined the Israel Defense Forces in 1958 and joined the Israel Prison Service, where he served until the day he died, and during the Six Day War (1967) and during the Yom Kippur War He was devoted to the security forces with all his soul, and was awarded the honor of his courageous deeds in the Six Day War, where he volunteered to assist in the rescue of casualties from the battlefield.Jamal was married to Swahili and was the loving father of nine children: Nariman, Salman, Iman, Na’a, Nabila, Nabil, Nabal, Muna and Noel On Monday, November 5, 1979, a prison guard, Jamal, died after a Lev attack in his home.
