Awida, Emil
Son of Remzia and Mazid. Emil was born in Israel on July 22, 1959. Was the fifth son of a family of seven. He grew up in the settlement of Sajur, completed his compulsory studies and studied at the Rama High School for a year. He then studied two years of workshops and auto mechanics as part of police workshops. In his spare time, Emil loved farming and listened to music. Emil was drafted into the Border Police in May 1977. From compulsory service he continued to permanent service and served faithfully until his death. During his service he received the operational service signal and the Peace for the Galilee War medal. The economic situation in the house was bad, and during his vacations Emil helped as much as he could to work outside and inside the house. His commander said: “Emil served as a driver / fighter, diligent and quiet, performed his duties well, his relations with the members were good, as with his commanders. First Sergeant Emil fell while serving in Lebanon, during the first Tsur disaster. On the morning of 11.11.1982, during the Peace for Galilee war, an explosion took place in a building in the city of Tzur, home to the Israeli military government and many IDF forces, and about 100 people were killed, including seventy-six members of the Israeli security forces. He was buried in the cemetery in Sajur.
