Awaida, Suleiman


Son of Frida and Fares. Suleiman was born in the Druze village of Sajur in the Galilee on September 25, 1939. He grew up in his village. In 1956, Suleiman joined the IDF and was injured in an incident on the Jordanian border and was hospitalized at the Soroka Medical Center in Beer Sheva in May 1963. In May 1963 Suleiman was drafted into the Border Police and stationed at the Border Police in Jerusalem, where he remained until his death. During his service he held a variety of positions that involved a great deal of physical and managerial effort, and he performed them with great pleasure and success. Suleiman married Mashiah and built a house in Sajur with her. He had fifteen children, twelve sons and three daughters. He was an educator and a therapist, and he took care of his children as well as his policemen at the base. Was a man of society who loved others, respected others, and even won him himself. Suleiman was an avid sports fan. On November 12, 1988, a senior sergeant died after illness. Forty-nine years old. He was buried in the cemetery in Sajur. Left a wife and fifteen children.
