Awad, Saadia (“Sabri”)


Son of Moshe and Aafia. He was born in 1919 in the city of Burt in Shabtman, studied in the “cheder” and “yeshiva” in his native city, and immigrated to Israel in 1949 in “Iron Carpet.” He found his livelihood as a construction worker. To the flag before the Sinai Campaign and fell in battle on the 28th of Mershvan 5717 (2/11/1956). He was buried at the Military Emergency Cemetery in Bari and on 28 October 5757 he was transferred to the eternal military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. He left a wife and two daughters.
