Avrani, David (Gamshir)

David, son of Saloman and Leah Avrani, was born in 1948 in Persia and the family immigrated to Israel in 1957. He was a member of the youth movement of the Histadrut labor federation in the Hatikva neighborhood of Tel Aviv, and was a member of the new aliyah movement. In May 1966, David enlisted in the IDF. He died while fulfilling his duties on the 29th of Marcheshvan (12.11.1966) and was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat-Shaul. His name was mentioned in the book “The Paratroop Wars” by Uri Milstein.
