Avram, Morris
Ben Esther and Jacques (Jimmy). Born in Kfar Saba on July 7, 1971. Born in Bechor, brother to Gadi, Oded and Assaf, Morris grew up in Kfar Sava, studied at Gordon Elementary School, junior high school in Yigal Alon and high school In November 1989, Morris was drafted into the army and volunteered for the Air Force’s “Shaldag” unit. After a long and exhausting basic training course, he was sent to the Combat Symbols course, received the rank of sergeant and completed the course of a paratrooper unit. Later, he was sent to a course of thousands of dogs, and at the end he was promoted to the rank of sergeant and continued his service in the dog division. At the end of three years of compulsory military service, Morris was discharged and began his civilian life, and before he was assigned to a reserve unit, Morris was called to an interview with the battalion commander of the unit where he was supposed to serve. On the day of Tu B’Av 5753 (August 2, 1993), Maurice fell in the line of duty in a car accident in Kfar Saba, when he made his way back from the Armored Corps in Tel Aviv after a day of reserve duty. Morris was laid to rest in the Kfar Saba military cemetery. He was twenty-two years old when he fell. Survived by his parents and three brothers. The liaison officer, who met Morris during the interview on the last day of his life, said in his memory: “Maurice was motivated and seriously committed to reserve duty, and he asked to be assigned according to his abilities.
