He was born in Ramle on June 3, 1962, and was named after his grandfather on his father’s side, the eldest son of his parents, after whom his sisters Shirley and Hadas were born, and his mother says: “When we were walking with Yossi in his carriage in Ramle, With his unique beauty, the charming dimples on both cheeks, and the special grace that was only his and proudly displayed on his face. “Yossi attended Ariel Elementary School and moved to Maanit School after graduating from Amal High School, He was a member of the Neve David club in the city and was always surrounded by friends, who loved to spend time with them, and when he was in high school he organized dance parties and even had a demon Real Radio School. His mother says: “Joseph was a mentally soft, gentle, loving and considerate. He loved music of every kind and especially classical, whose sounds were heard in the background of the house almost all the time. He loved drawing, sketching, and sculpting. During his youth he participated in summer camps for art-loving youth from all over the world, held every summer at Beit Vagan in Jerusalem. Yossi liked to photograph, and always had a camera attached to his shoulder – on trips, events and celebrations, especially when his children were born. “In November 1980, Yossi enlisted in the IDF. He served in the Artillery Corps in the south of the country. At the end of his regular service, he traveled abroad, especially in London, the city he loved most, and after a while he married and moved to Petah Tikva. Yossi was a devoted father and husband, a proud and caring father, very proud of his children and their development, but he also found time to volunteer for the community, and was a volunteer policeman in Petah Tikva. In the reserve service, he volunteered for a paratroopers ‘unit, where he supervised the soldiers’ shooting and participated in various operational activities “Yosef was a talented, moral and responsible soldier who greatly helped his friends and was known for being meticulous and orderly, and thanks to these qualities he contributed greatly to the brigade headquarters and to the fighters in it. His priorities. ” On 10.10.2000 Yossi was called to reserve duty. Two days later, on the 12th of Tishrei 5761 (October 12, 2000), Yossi and Corporal Vadim Nurzitz left for Ramallah for an operational activity, while the two were mistaken on their way to the reserve unit and entered Ramallah.They were taken by Palestinian police to the police station in the city, They were killed in a horrific lynching when a mob of rampaging Palestinians burst into the police station and murdered them with terrible cruelty, at the age of thirty-eight, when he was laid to rest in the Segula Military Cemetery in Petach Tikvah, leaving a wife, daughter and two sons. After his death, Yossi was promoted to Major General. His memory is commemorated in the paratroopers’ monument near Tel Nof and Gilad of the maintenance force near Moshav Hadid.
