Avrahami, Abraham (‘Avi’)
Son of Carmela and Aaron. He was born on the 11th of Tevet 5710 (11.1.1950) in Haifa. He studied at the Tel Hai elementary school in Neve Shaanan. Afterward, he continued his studies at the Sammat High School in Haifa and in the Armored Corps, where he was a member of the Scouts movement and he loved music and art. In early October 1967 he was drafted into the IDF and assigned to the Armored Corps as a tank electrician. After his discharge from compulsory service, he took a course in driving instructors and engaged in this profession in his civilian life. He also served as a driving instructor in the military, when he was called for periods of reserve duty. Over the years he married his girlfriend, Batsheva. On April 8, 1988, while serving in active reserve duty, he fell during his service and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Haifa. He left behind a wife – Batsheva, mother, sister – Frida, and Jonathan. In a letter of condolences to the family, his commander wrote: “My father served in his unit in reserve duty, and always when he was called upon to fulfill his duty and enlist in reserve service, he did so flawlessly and with great devotion”
