Avraham, Hananiah


Hanania, son of Shulamit and Yosef, was born on February 18, 1953 in Hadera and studied at the Tzafririm elementary school and the Amal vocational high school in Hadera and was a diligent, devoted and disciplined student, After a period of hesitation he gained a place of honor among his friends and teachers, and soon became evident in his technical skills, which led him to study mechanics. After completing a course in mechanics, he was assigned to the Ordnance Corps and attached to the Artillery Corps as a mechanic and commander and was awarded the rank of Corporal. He was an excellent soldier and a loyal friend who loved everything. He was always ready to fulfill any task. Due to his dedicated service he was awarded the “Operational Service Award”. On the day of Yom Kippur, October 6, 1973, Hanania fought in the Tel-A-Juhder section of the Golan Heights and fell in battle. He was brought to eternal rest in the Afula cemetery. After his fall he was promoted to sergeant. Survived by his parents, brothers and sisters.
