Avitan, Yoram


The youngest son of Aziza and Rafael. Born in Jerusalem on February 20, 1967, Yoram was born and raised in Jerusalem and his love for her was great, he attended elementary school, continued in a vocational high school and stopped studying after one year. To work in various places until he joined the IDF in early February 1985. Yoram was very attached to his family, especially his mother, and helped her at any time, even during brief vacations from the army. He joined the Nahal Brigade and served in the “Shiran” nucleus, which was designated for Kibbutz Shomria. Afterward, he underwent basic training, took an ambulance driver course, and served in the Nahal Brigade as an ambulance driver. “His commander says that Yoram was an exemplary, responsible and devoted soldier who was excellent in his willingness to listen to his friends and help them, and he fulfilled the tasks and tasks that were assigned to him in the nucleus and brigade. He successfully passed an advanced surfing course and won a certificate from the Israel Clown Association On the 14th of May, 1988, Yoram fell on his way to a Shabbat vacation with four of his friends in the nucleus. He was buried at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem and was twenty-one years old when he died, leaving behind his parents and seven brothers and sisters, and his comrades in the Nahal Brigade published a pamphlet in his memory And incorporated poems, letters and pictures from his period of service with them.
