Avitan, Eli

Eli, son of Sarah and Mordechai Avitan, was born in Afula in 1966. In June 1987 Eli joined the Israel Police. He served in the Tel Aviv District. Eli lived in Rishon Letzion with his family. Superintendent Eli fell in the course of his duties on 22 Sivan, 31.5.2013. He was forty-seven when he fell. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul, Tel Aviv. Survived by his wife, son and two daughters, two sisters and three brothers. On the gravestone of Eli, his family wrote the verse, “He who walks uprightly and righteously and speaks truth in his Lev, He was not a talebearer with his tongue, he has not done evil to his neighbor” (Psalms 15:2,3).
