Avital, Tal (Tali)


Daughter of Kadima and Moshe. She was born on June 3, 1974, in Be’er Sheva, the fifth child of five children in her family. She completed her entire years in her hometown. First, at the Gevim Elementary School, later on in the arts track at the Comprehensive High School and finally at the Technological College in the city. At the same time, she studied sports at the Wingate Institute. From an early age, she was prominent in two areas: sports and painting. For a while she dreamed of studying graphics, but at some point she preferred the sport and focused on the running and survival sectors, and in both branches she scored impressive achievements and accumulated many degrees and medals. At its peak she was the champion of the country in the field of survival and long distance running. Along with fitness and sport training, she developed extensive social connections in her neighborhood, especially loved children, and they were involved. Her schoolmates said she was joking, self-confident and ambitious, but also introverted. She was loved and loved, and had an influence on her friends. Tali enlisted in the IDF in August 1993. She was sent to the Physical Training and Krav Maga training course, and after completing her course was stationed in the Gadna-South area. Her friends in the unit said that she was kind, disciplined, full of joy, and loved her military role very much. Tali was killed during her service, on April 11, 1994, at the age of 20. She left behind her parents, Galit’s sister, and three brothers – Gavriel, Yair and David Tali was laid to rest in the Kiryat Shaul military cemetery Denis Hannover, One of the leaders of Israel’s survival sport, said after her death: “Tali was an exceptional athlete and a charming girl, and excelled in every field she dealt with.
