Avian, Galit


Daughter of Yael and Chaim. She was born on July 15, 1971 in Jerusalem. She attended the Giv’at Gonen-Pet Elementary School and the Seligesberg Middle School in Jerusalem and completed her high school studies at the ORT Jerusalem College of Computer and Electronics. Galit was recruited to the IDF in the middle of November 1989. After completing basic training, she was sent to a training course for armored corps instructors, graduated with honors and was assigned to the Armored Corps. In the course of her service, she was appointed to the IDF Military Cemetery at Mount Herzl, and on her way to the military cemetery at Mount Herzl In Jerusalem. She left parents, three sisters – Vered, Hila, and Meital, and three brothers – Avi, Dor and Eran. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, her commanding officer wrote: “Galit served as a training officer in the Armored Corps for more than a year, and her contribution to the center, the development of training, , Even when the work load was unbearable, and Galit was taken to us all as a fresh and beautiful flower, and the late Lieutenant Galit was a woman of valor.
